Some of Sharidan's measurements:

- The average height for an adult female in the U.S. is 5' 3.8", or 63.8". How tall would the average woman's head need to be, to be in the same proportion to her height as Sharidan's head is to her height?
We need for the ratio of the average woman's head to her height to be equal to the ratio of Sharidan's head to her height. In other words,
woman's head⁄woman's height = doll's head⁄ doll's height
⇒ head⁄ 63.8" = 2.25"⁄ 9"
⇒ head=(63.8")(2.25⁄9)=15.95".Note: We could just as easily have said that we need the ratio of the average woman's head to Sharidan's head to be in the same proportion as the average woman's height to Sharidan's height. In that case, we'd end up with
woman's head⁄doll's head = woman's height⁄doll's height
⇒ head⁄2.25" = 63.8"⁄ 9"
⇒ head=(2.25")(63.8⁄9)=15.95".Notice: This is an equivalent proportion to the first one, since we got the same result for the average woman's head.
- Assuming the average woman's head is actually 8.5" from crown to bottom of chin (rather than 15.95" we found above), how wide would each of her eyes have to be, to be in the same proportion to her head as Sharidan's are to her head?
Again, we need for the ratio of the width of the average woman's eyes to the height of her head to be equal to the ratio of Sharidan's eyes to the height of her head:
eyes⁄ 8.5" = .625"⁄ 2.25" ⇒ width of eye=(8.5")(.625⁄ 2.25)≈2.36". Note: Of course, Sharidan's eyes are even more out of proportion when compared to her height. For the average woman's eyes to be in the same proportion to her height as Sharidan's are, her eyes would have to be
eyes⁄63.8" = .625"⁄9" ⇒ width of eye =(63.8")(.625⁄9)≈4.43" wide.
