Be sure to check back often, because assignments may change!

    Due Tuesday 3/5
    PS 5: Group Assignment

    Section 9.1: 2, 6, 8, 16, 23, 24, 32, 34
    Section 8.2: 3, 4, 6, 9

    Due Tuesday 3/19
    PS 6: Individual Assignment

    Section 8.2: 13, 19, 20, 21
    Note:
For 19, assume the glass has straight (linear) sides.
20 is long and involves a lot of different ideas. Some hints: a latitude of 45 degrees means the circle around the sphere that when you draw a line from any point on the circle to the center, the line forms an angle of 45 degrees with the plane through the equator, and the plane through the center perpendicular to that first plane. Also, remember the Pythagorean theorem or trig to find the height above the equator.
    Section 8.3: 6, 7

    Due Tuesday 3/26
    PS 7: Group Assignment

    Section 10.1: 1, 2, 9, 17, 18, 25, 26, 43a
    Section 10.2: 9, 17

    That's it for March's assignments.
Go to the problem sets for April and May!
