Installing Maple on Your PC

    (Last modified: Wednesday, August 17, 2011, 5:03 PM )

We will use Maple 12 (a powerful computer algebra and graphing package) throughout the semester. Students with Windows with enough memory can dowload it onto their computers for the semester (you must delete it at the end of the semeter). If you do not have enough memory, there is an older Maple (Maple 7) available.

For those of you who have had any older versions of Maple, you are urged to remove it via the Control Panels (Add/Remove) and then proceed with the above iinstallation instructions.

    • Please let me know if you are downloading Maple onto your computer!
      • Under the START menu select RUN
      • Type in \\155.47.35.243 (must be back-slashes, not forward-slashes) and click OK
      • A window will appear with a folder named "Software". Double-click and there are three folders inside: Maple 7, Maple 9.01, and Minitab 13. Select the appropriate version of Maple.
      • Open the Serial.txt file and write down the serial number.
      • Locate the appropriate version of Maple and run the Setup.exe file.

    • Reminder: You must delete Maple from your computer at the end of the semester.

If you have any problems with installation, please contact Diane DeMelo (x 3924, ddemelo).
